About Direct Line home insurance

Direct Line offers the choice between 'Home insurance' and 'Home insurance plus', each with the option of either buildings insurance or contents insurance. 'Home insurance plus' also gives the option of a policy which covers both buildings and contents as well as a range of added bonusses as standard.

Customers that take out buildings insurance can get a 50% discount on contents insurance and customers that apply online can benefit from a further 25% online discount.

What you should know

What is covered in your policy depends on which policy you opt for but Direct Line offers a number of benefits with all policies:

Contents cover includes cover whilst in transit if you are moving house

Anything else?

If you opt for the standard policy you can add optional extras to include an added level of protection for a small price, if you opt for the Plus policy then most of these are included as standard. Optional extras offered include accidental damage cover, personal possessions cover whilst outside the home and family legal protection.
